Students in Lower Primary follow the national track curriculum called Zambia Primary Curriculum, which prepares learners for upper primary. Crested Crane Academy offers an enriched curriculum that exceeds the set objectives in the Zambia Education Curriculum Framework.

Upper Primary
The Upper Primary stage is a three-year program for Grades Five, Six, and Seven, culminating in an examination at the end of Grade Seven. Learners are prepared for the primary school leaving examination and attain a level Grade Seven certificate, a key requirement for progression to Grade Eight, equivalent to Level 1 certification of the Zambia qualification framework.

At the end of Grade Seven, learners sit for examinations in the core subjects. From Grade Five onwards, students are subject to School-Based Assessments (SBA), a model of continuous assessment whose achievement scores add to the final Grade Seven Examination. Much of the SBA is experiential learning, research, and hands-on project-based assignments
